The chap who originally took my booking and accomodated our flight preferences went one step beyond helpful and we found the same with everyone who facilitated our holiday. Lucia was lovely at the hotel and was very friendly. The guides knew their stuff and the farm owner and his staff at the husky farm were really good coves! We were lucky with the evening snowshoeing because the weather was perfect and the northern lights good, so it felt the most magical.

It is hard to pick a favoruite activity as they were different but we really enjoyed them all - snowmobile, huskie safari, aurora camp, aurora hunting. An excellent holiday with fantastic staff at the company and hotel. In resort the helpfulness, friendliness and knowledge of staff was extremely good.

The most enjoyable activity was probably the snow mobiles and visit to the reindeer farm. Covered a lot of ground. Beautiful scenery and interesting talk. Felt like a very full day.

Honestly, I can’t differentiate. The snowmobiling and husky sled were two activities we hadn’t tried before and they were great. Meeting the dogs at the end was a bonus. The reindeer herder was also great. The camps in the evening were good fun too. Everything was superb.

The food quality was excellent, plentiful, nutritious and tasty. The hotel, rooms, amenities and facilities are perfect. It's really nice to be in an unusual, repurposed building rather than a homogenized chain. The bedrooms are well equipped and comfortable, and really with so much to do outside they're just four sleeping in :-) I loved the physical exertion mixed with the tranquility of snow shoeing and cross country skiing through the forest. The snow mobile's appealed to me as a petrol head and didn't disappoint... although I would have loved a little more freedom to go off piste on the lake maybe. The fishing was a great experience to drill through the ice and peaceful although fruitless. The reindeer herder experience was really nice, authentic and personal, the herder was really friendly and personable and getting so close to the reindeer out in the forest was amazing. Overall though, I think I'd have to say the husky sledding was my favourite... the dogs were lovely, clearly well looked after and so enjoyed pulling the sleds.

Love the unplanned time, just wandering in the gorgeous snow. Of organised activities, loved the snowshoe aurora camp - the location of the camp was magical and the visit to the reindeer farm was delightful.

I'd booked this trip as a bucket list dream to see the Northern Lights and figured that if I wasn't lucky enough to see them, the activities would make up for it. I never did see the lights but this trip was full of wow and was a perfect holiday. The Nangu Wilderness Hotel is lovely, food great, staff fantastic and I loved every second... I just wish I could have stayed longer. I was really looking forward to the husky safari and it didn't disappoint but I was surprised how much I loved the snowshoeing (I'm 64 and not so fit!) and the snowmobiling with stunning views of the setting sun appearing at unexpected moments. The guides were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive and the Aurora Zone rep, Lucia, was fantastic and took the trouble to go into Inari to buy me the Sami drum I wanted and couldn't get at the hotel. This was a holiday I won't forget and I look forward to another Aurora Zone break in the future. Loved it!

All activities were very well organised and all creature comforts were taken care of. Probably the Reindeer visit was my favourite. We appreciated the expert knowledge in helping us to choose this particular holiday and the comprehensive information provided before the trip. Muotka was fantastic and lived up to our expectations. The manager and staff are super friendly and create a very relaxed atmosphere. The activities were extremely well organised and well led. We loved all activities, but particularly the husky ride and the snowmobiles.

Husky sledge riding, beautiful dogs and an incredible experience like no other.  All of the experiences were great in there own way.

Husky Sledding was our favoruite, as have never done anything like that before, our guide was excellent and the dogs were lovely.

Everyone was friendly and helpful

The most enjoyable aspect was obviously seeing spectacular northern light show... every night of our stay-we were so so lucky. As for the prepaid acts... got to have been dog sleigh trip. Fully appreciated the tips on what to pack.. depending on activities booked. Never felt cold even when dipped to -25C! 

 I loved the Husky outing the best but my husband loved the snowmobile safari

The dog sledding was by far our favourite activity, it was exhilarating and fun. this was a most excellent trip and everyone I dealt from the very beginning to the last contact was very helpful and quick to respond to our queries. Love this company.

This trip was an extremely amazing trip. As it turns out, it was exactly perfect--all necessary things were taken care of without having to have someone lead you by the nose to do what has been preprogrammed. The choices of places and the activities included were exactly perfect and both my husband and I feel it was one of the best trips we've ever done. We got to see the Aurora three times and the places we stayed were excellent. I would highly recommend and have already recommended to family members that are also desirious of seeing the Aurora to use this company--I'm hoping to find other trips they coordinate to other parts of the world but not sure if they do--keeping my fingers crossed.

The Husky Safari was the most enjoyable activity we had. It was so exciting! But we really enjoyed every activity and our tour guides were amazing! Shoutout to Jana and snowmobile Adam i think was his name! All the guides were Amazing thank you so much for having this amazing people guide us and having so much patience with us since we have never done any of these activities. Thanks to Jana for all of her patience teaching us how to skii and walk with the snow shoes. Thanks to Adam with all of his attention in such a cold night with the snowmobiles.

Staying in the glass-top cabin was quite an experience!  We didn't get much sleep as we kept waking up to check for the Northern Lights. The last two nights, we were in a regular room which was also very nice and comfortable.  Nangu's main lodge/restaurant was very nice, with excellent food and wine choices. We really enjoyed the adults-only atmosphere that this hotel offers. It's an easy walk to the frozen lake, where many activities occur.  We snowshoed, snowmobiled, and went dogsledding -  all of the activities were fun and very professionally run. Kudos to our main tour guide, Marti, who was absolutely wonderful! The only thing I would change about the tours was that we had 4 hours of snowshoeing one morning, but somehow got scheduled for more snowshoeing that night as well (we were too tired for that again, but pushed through).  Suggest spreading this out a bit.  Being given the snowsuits, boots, and gloves to borrow was key - and we really needed the heated hand warmers (for purchase) since it was around 0-degrees F most of the time!  Airport transport to/from was quick and easy. The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful at the hotel, and we met some wonderful people from other countries.  We saw the Northern Lights all 3 nights! Just an amazing experience overall, and we will remember this trip forever! Thanks for everything.

Unbelievable holiday for all 4 of us, we want to go again. It was all so well organised and the hotel and guides were amazing.

Loved all the activities but my favourite was the huskies. From the beginning of the trip at Gatwick, the flight with Finnair and their staff, through to Ivalo, the transfer, the reception at the Northern Lights Village, the Igloo, the restaurant and lounge areas. All activities were well thought out and safety paramount. One of the best experiences ever. To top it all the Northern Lights made an appearance for 3 nights while we stayed in Saariselka. Amazing trip

Excellent log cabin. So nice to have your own sauna and wood burning fireplace after a day out in the cold!

I had a great time, Nikii is an excellent host. I thought all the activities were of a good duration, long enough to get some practice but not so long that you got cold etc. very well run.

Hard to pick what was most enjoyable but probably dog sledging, exploring in near silence.

We enjoyed the mix of activity trying huskie sledding, cross country skiing and snowshoeing for the first time and were so fortunate to see the Northern Lights on 3 nights. The log cabin was warm and cosy. The food in the restaurant was superb and we really enjoyed talking to the wilderness guides-our particular thanks to Ani who took us to the Aurora camp and Henri who took us snowshoeing and skiing. All very well organised and we definitely need a return visit to conquer the photography!

Holiday was brilliant and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Nellim.

The snow mobiling was great fun and the visit to the reindeer farm was very interesting plus a great lunch eaten outside.

It was lovely meeting other families and nationalities. There are skis and sledging mats and bikes with fat tyres for you to use. Goran and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Going out on the dog sledging. So exhilarating "driving" the sleds through the forest and along the tracks. Meeting them all and cuddling the puppies. There again, the staff were lovely and looked after us all very well. They instructed us carefully and made sure we went round the bends safely. I would do it again in a heartbeat. We also went out onto the frozen sea on snowmobiles which was pretty amazing and fast! There again, Erik instructed us on the safety aspects carefully. Thomas drove us over the frozen sea in the hovercraft to one of the ice roads. We also had an evening snow shoe walk and Andrea's explained about various flora and fauna. Obviously, hot drinks and cinnamon buns are served on every outing! We also saw the northern lights on the last night - yay!!

As I was travelling with my 89 year old mother, the assistance that she received was fabulous. She was able to participate in the activities we had booked (Aurora car and camp and reindeer farm visit) as the guides helped her along the way. We saw the northern lights!!! We stood outside by Inari lake for about 2 hours but the thermal suits, hand warmers and "Just give it another 5 minutes" attitude meant that we had a good display.
