Menesjarvi alias Narnia
Wow! What a fabulous holiday. Timo and Jane went above and beyond the call of duty even after a long working day. For me, Jane taught me how to knit socks the Finnish way, and Timo lent me his gloves to build a snowman as we were leaving! Timo's knowledge on photography was amazing and he was more than willing to share it with us, and happy that we had one of the top five nights of spectacular Aurora display. We stayed out for three hours until our lenses froze! To leave Menesjarvi was very hard indeed, we were the last on the bus. In the book by CS Lewis, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"...... we  were leaving Narnia. Back home  I have been driving my car like a snowmobile. Not good in narrow country lanes! Can't wait to go back, be it through a wardrobe, plane or car, it will never be soon enough. Thank you all so much for making a dream come true.

Very well looked after
Dick and Mina at the Abisko Mountain Lodge, together with all their staff and the guides, are excellent. They are all so professional yet caring and treat you as an individual, not as 'just another tourist passing through'. We felt very well looked after.

Outstanding holiday experience
Quite simply an outstanding holiday experience!!.....If we had not got to see the Aurora on this trip, it would still have been a fantastic holiday....our time at Abisko was brilliant, thanks to Dick, Mina and their staff. The food was delicious and the guides on the activities were outstanding. We did get to see three spectacular nights of Aurora activity, each one different and if only my photography skills could have made a better job of capturing it!!!

Fantastic holiday in a great location
It was a fantastic holiday in a great location. We were all asked if there was anything we didn't like to eat and I mentioned fish. Not only did they prepare me a diffrent meal one night but even on our dog sledge trip I had an alternative lunch which I thought very good.

The lady who runs the husky farm is enthusiastic and really cares about her animals
Well, it's a personal thing but I really enjoyed the day out with the huskies - the lady who runs the husky farm is enthusiastic and really cares about her animals. The driving of the sled was brilliant, a delicious home cooked stew for lunch - all perfect. Also loved the snowmobiles... that was excellent too! The holiday  was "Gentle" as described... I guess it's whetted my appetite to do more as I found I wanted to do something else in the afternoons, between getting back from the 10am-2pm activity and our early dinner... but we wandered around the museum one day and went for a walk on another...

An excellent trip
Overall an excellent trip. A very good intro given we had never before done either a winter trip, or an organised activity trip. A good range of "taster" sessions. Locals were good at giving background and context.

I discovered I like reindeer meat :)
Apart from the actual Northern Lights, the best activity was the dog-sleds because it was such a unique opportunity. I left thinking the snowmobiles would be the thing I'd enjoy the most... and it's worth mentioning that eating was also an enjoyable activity - it's a good thing that I discovered I like reindeer meat :)

A brilliant weekend
The hotel rooms were simple and the guide was somewhat eccentric, but even those weren't big issues. Everything else was in the excellent category. It was a brilliant weekend.

Felt really close to the environment
Husky safari with Yari near Ivalo (the hotel dogs were tired) felt really close to the environment working in partnership with the dogs who really enjoyed it!

We found the staff, representatives fantastic at the resort
We found the staff and representatives fantastic at the resort. The food was great, rooms clean, lovely and warm. If we go again we will try and have some free days to allow us to discover the area by ourselves.

Really enjoyed this holiday
We really enjoyed this holiday - the Northern Lights didn't appear but that made no difference to our enjoyment, it would just have been a bonus!

Wonderful holiday in a magical place
A wonderful holiday in a magical place. I loved how it was unspoilt by tourism though it did cater for tourists.
