Amazing holiday
Absolutely incredible trip! We stayed for four nights and in this time we were lucky enough to see the beautiful Aurora Borealis every night. During our stay our activities included snowmobiling both during the day and at night, a trip to a reindeer farm, a husky safari, snowshoe walking and cross-country skiing. All of these activities were absolutely fantastic and I can’t begin to thank our guides Viktor, Antti and Otto enough as they were incredibly friendly and great fun to be around. Maija was also very friendly and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The accommodation was great, it was very clean and comfortable. We also upgraded to stay in the Aurora Bubble for one of the nights, which I would highly recommend as the views of the starry night are truly amazing. The food was also very nice, it had a very homely feel to it and there always more than you could possibly eat! Thanks to all those involved in making this a truly incredible experience and I would without a doubt recommend the trip to anyone.

Fantastic holiday
Couldn't have asked for a better trip - well-organised, lovely staff, comfortable accommodation, great activities and three sightings of the Aurora. Perfect balance of activities and time to relax.

A review of Muotka - Fellside Auroras
An amazing trip!
I had a wonderful week at Muotka. I really liked that the lodge is relatively small so it feels very cosy and friendly and you can relax and chat to fellow travellers, many from other countries. A great bonus when travelling alone. The staff were all very friendly but I think it was the activity guides that made the week so very special. They were without exception experienced, knowledgeable, friendly, encouraging, supportive and patient, even when you couldn't help doing exactly what you had been warned not to! I felt that they were genuinely concerned both for our safety and that we should enjoy ourselves. The equipment provided, together with the suggestions sent before the trip were just what was needed to stay comfortable and warm (most of the time). Perhaps foot warmers should be encouraged for night time Aurora watching. The icing on the cake, well seeing the Northern Lights four times out of six nights was pretty amazing and I was completely entranced by the Aurora Camp, two hours of fabulous star gazing and Lights display with a 360 dgree view and a warm fire to thaw out by, what more could you ask for. Thank you, a very thoughtfully designed and managed trip.

The holiday was absolutely fantastic
The holiday was absolutely fantastic, our friends have asked for details as we have recommended you to them. The accommodation was better than we expected for an activity centre, the food was excellent just what you needed for the climate. The Hotel Management and staff were very friendly, and the guides, especially Ben, were very knowledgeable and made the experience extra special, putting themselves out at every opportunity. THANK YOU

I found the pre-holiday planning thorough, the destination amazing and the accommodation and welcome from the family beyond expectation
Pre-holiday info was invaluable and I was advised of everything I needed for the trip.  The forest ski activity was awesome as was the guide (Annette) who took us. Annette was all patience and encouragement till we found our feet. My husband had a bit of an issue with the ski activity but Annett continued to support and encourage him. She was amazing. Equally we loved the dog sledging day. It was amazing but topped off by a lunchtime chat with the guy who ran the dogs - he was so clearly connected to his animals & the environment that I could have talked to him and enjoyed his company for much longer.  To be honest, we have travelled widely but never before to a region such as this. I found the pre-holiday planning thorough, the destination amazing and the accommodation and welcome from the family beyond expectation.

Amazing holiday
Amazing holiday in what was a wonderful hotel which was so friendly it felt like being at home. Local guides were super and their knowledge and skill was wonderful. Husky sledding (was a) unique experience which was good in length and scenery. Guide was also good at giving out information, safety briefing very informative, any questions answered without a problem. All activities were enjoyable and we made the most of what was offered.

A review of Nellim - Aurora in the Wild
Amazing and truly unforgettable!!
We were really impressed with the food. My sister is vegetarian and we thought the vegetarian selection was excellent. The staff at the activity providers were brilliant... friendly, helpful, patient, accommodating and really made all the activities fun and enjoyable. The hotel was absolutely lovely, especially the staff. We liked the balance between activity and having our own time to rest and chill out. We took advantage of the time to try our hand at skiing. The pre trip documentation was very thorough and informative. We really had a fantastic time and have been telling all our friends about it. We can't wait to go again!! I think the true test is that we didn't see the Northern Lights once, but it didn't really matter because the rest of the holiday was amazing and truly unforgettable!!

A winter wonderland
What an awesome trip. Loved every moment of it. Every dealing with Aurora Zone has been faultless from initial enquiry, through to booking, greeting in Luosto and the holiday itself. Santa's Aurora Chalet was fabulous. Really homely. Great food and the catering for my vegetarian husband was also great. The staff at the hotel were friendly and appeared happy in their work. The in room sauna was also definitely a hit. The activites - both of us enjoyed all of them and wouldn't change a thing. On our rest day we booked for cross-country skiing and the 20k husky sledding - also great. I think the husky sledding was probably the favourite (hence the extra booking) but all of it was great. The other people on our holiday also significantly contributed to the fun. A great group and we had lots of laughs. Only saw Northern Lights on first night (and a very weak one) but the holiday was memorable and one of my favourites and would still have been even if we hadn't seen the Northern Lights at all. Very happy to recommend to others and already have. Thankyou for a great holiday.

The husky dog trail was magical!
The husky dog trail was magical! The snowshoe trail was so interesting with our guide Tim as he showed us the animal tracks and the constellations and talked about the local folklore. We were the luckiest couple that week because we saw one of the best Auroras that evening. Overall we had a wonderful holiday. The ICEHOTEL was a unique experience. The Aurora Borealis, the husky dog trail, supping reindeer soup in a tepee - they were once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

We absolutely loved this whole trip
We absolutely loved this whole trip. It exceeded our expectations and the people at the Treehotel and the Abisko Mountain Lodge are amazingly kind and friendly. They can't do enough for you. We saw three Aurora displays and extremely heavy snow so we had a full taste of the conditions people face. Thank you for a big tick on our bucket list.

It was all fantastic
Going into the highlands in our monster vehicle with our wonderful guide Asi [pronounced he told us Owsi] was memorable. And the black sand beach with snow-white waves crashing - unforgettable. And the lovely meal at Selfoss. And the sunrise at Pingvellir. I could go on and on! Gullfoss, Geysir - ok I will stop now. Loved the vehicle!  It was all fantastic.  It was the most wonderful four days. Exceeded all expectations and the Aurora even made a faint appearance for us. What made the trip so good was our guide/driver Asi. He was full of interesting facts and answered all questions. He was friendly and patient when some of us didn't get back to the transport on time. Also made sure that the Eyjafjallajokull place stayed open so we could visit even though we were late. The hotels were excellent, specially Ranga where the staff were very friendly and the food delicious. Ah I wish I was back there now.

A fantastic week
What a fantastic week! The activities were well organised and not too close together to allow recovery time which was much needed, the cold really is tiring! Once at Torrasieppi everything is included, the snow suit, boots and gloves are really good. Just wear a few loose layers underneath to keep warm even at -19 with a severe wind chill was no problem. All the equipment is available whenever you feel the urge to just go outside. It is difficult to single out any one of the staff, all were knowledgable and nothing was too much trouble. Just fantastic. Brian & Janice
