About Ivalo
Most Aurora Zone travellers know Ivalo as the airport they land at before travelling onwards to Saariselkä, Inari or the wilderness hotels around Lake Inari. Northern Lights Village Ivalo changes that.
Opened in December 2025, this tiny property has just six guest rooms and space for only sixteen guests. It sits beside a working husky farm, creating a stay that feels far more personal than a conventional resort.
Ivalo itself remains only a short drive away for shops and cafés, but the holiday is centred on the small-scale Village, the dogs and the surrounding Arctic landscape.
Huskies, Kotas and Arctic Nights
The two current programmes make the huskies a major part of the experience, alongside heated sleigh rides, snowmobiling, ice fishing and dedicated Northern Lights searches.

Northern Lights Village Ivalo
Northern Lights Village Ivalo has six guest rooms, three Aurora Kotas and a small restaurant seating just over a dozen guests. That scale shapes the whole stay, from meals to activity groups.
The husky farm next door is not a day-trip attraction added to the itinerary; it is part of the setting. For dog lovers in particular, that gives Ivalo a clear reason to choose it over a larger Lapland resort.
Best for: couples, dog lovers, small groups, personal service and travellers who prefer intimate accommodation.
