Getting to Finnish Lapland just became a whole lot easier!
easyJet has announced two brand-new direct routes for Winter 2026/27, with flights from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Kittilä and Newcastle International Airport to Rovaniemi launching from 25th November 2026. Both services will operate twice a week throughout the winter season, giving Northern travellers even more choice when planning a magical Arctic escape.
For our guests at The Aurora Zone, this is fantastic news.
Easier Than Ever to Reach Lapland
For years, many travellers from the North have had to travel to a Southern UK airport or via connecting European airports to reach Finland.
These new direct services mean shorter journeys, less travelling and more time enjoying the best of everything Lapland has to offer.
If you’re dreaming of seeing the Northern Lights, meeting Santa, travelling through snowy forests on a husky safari or staying in a glass-roofed Aurora Cabin, getting there has never been more convenient than this winter!
For many families, couples and friends across the North East, North West and Yorkshire, Liverpool and Newcastle are now the most convenient departure airports for a Lapland holiday.

Liverpool to Kittilä
The new Liverpool to Kittilä route means one of Finnish Lapland’s most popular regions is now so easily accessible.
Kittilä Airport provides easy access to some of our favourite destinations, including:
These destinations are known for spectacular Northern Lights displays, unforgettable winter activities and some of the most unique accommodation in the Arctic.

Newcastle to Rovaniemi – Fly Direct to the Official Home of Santa Claus
The new Newcastle to Rovaniemi service is just as exciting.
Rovaniemi is widely known as the official hometown of Santa Claus and is still one of Lapland’s most iconic destinations.
Rovaniemi Airport provides easy access to some of our favourite destinations, including:
It’s an excellent choice for families visiting during the festive season, but Rovaniemi also offers incredible opportunities for couples and adventure travellers throughout the winter.

Perfect for Travellers Across Northern England
These new routes are especially welcome news for travellers living across:
