Newly opened in December 2025 in Ivalo, Northern Lights Village offers an intimate escape in the heart of Finland's far North. With just six guest rooms accommodating sixteen guests, this boutique retreat promises a warm, personal atmosphere where every detail is carefully considered.
Nestled beside a husky farm, the village blends cosy comfort with authentic Arctic adventure. One night of your stay will be spent in an Aurora Kota, featuring a glass roof that lets you drift off beneath the shimmering Northern Lights, all while keeping your original cosy room.
Located high above the Arctic Circle in the Aurora Zone, Ivalo provides ideal conditions to witness the magical dance of the Northern Lights. During your stay, immerse yourself in the wonders of Lapland with activities including husky safaris, heated sleigh rides through snowy forests, snowmobile adventures across frozen landscapes, and ice fishing on crystal-clear lakes. From thrilling excursions to serene Arctic nights, every moment at Northern Lights Village is designed to create memories that will last a lifetime.

Itinerary
Arrive at Ivalo Airport and transfer to Northern Lights Village. Settle into your cozy room and receive your warm winter gear. After dinner, embark on your first magical Arctic evening: a tranquil Aurora sleigh ride through snow-covered forests. Your sleigh, towed by snowmobile, takes you to a remote fell under a starlit sky, where you can relax by the fire with hot drinks while awaiting the breathtaking dance of the Northern Lights.
This evening after dinner, step into the serene Arctic forest for a snowshoe trek over drifts of snow up to a meter deep. The only sounds are the crunch of snow beneath your feet and the whisper of the wind, as moonlight and a sky full of stars illuminate trees heavy with snow. Immerse yourself in the timeless stillness of Lapland’s winter wilderness. Along the trail, a cosy forest hut awaits, where you can warm up by a crackling fire and enjoy snacks and hot drinks while waiting for the Northern Lights to appear. With luck, witness a breathtaking Aurora display as vibrant colours ripple across the Arctic sky – a truly magical and unforgettable experience.

After breakfast, take the reins and experience the thrill of mushing your own husky team across Lapland’s sparkling fells. Begin with a brief driving lesson and time to meet your eager dogs before setting off on a longer safari through pristine winter landscapes. Pause for a traditional lunch by an open fire, then continue gliding through snowy forests. Back at the kennel, help unharness and feed the huskies, a rewarding end to a truly authentic Arctic adventure.
Note: This longer safari is recommended for guests with prior husky experience.
After dinner at the lodge, enjoy a second Northern Lights experience. Travel by minibus through the enchanting Arctic scenery, stopping at scenic viewpoints along the way. Warm up by the fire with a hot drink and savour a traditional Lapland snack while the Aurora Borealis illuminates the sky above.

Today after breakfast relax and enjoy a scenic journey from Ivalo to Inari, with stops along the way to capture the stunning landscapes of Lake Inari. Your visit includes the Sámi Museum Siida, where a guided tour introduces you to the rich history, traditions, and way of life of the Sámi, the indigenous people of Lapland. Take the opportunity to browse and purchase unique local souvenirs. After the museum and lunch, enjoy a short walk along the Juutuanjoki River, soaking in the serene Arctic surroundings before returning to Ivalo.

Start the day with an exhilarating snowmobile safari through snowy forests and open fells. Your journey leads to a secluded frozen lake for traditional ice fishing. Drill a hole in the ice, bait your hook, and try your luck at catching perch. Between fishing sessions, enjoy a hearty lakeside lunch over the fire, surrounded by the silence of the Arctic wilderness.
After your final dinner, spend the night in style in a glass-roof Aurora Kota, keeping your original room for convenience. Drift off beneath a sky alive with stars and the Northern Lights – a perfect, unforgettable finale to your Arctic adventure.

Spacious yet cosy, this 33 m² retreat is ideal for families or groups of friends. The room features two large double beds or one double plus two single beds, all dressed in soft duvets and warm throws. A well-stocked minibar and tea & coffee facilities are available for refreshment at any time, while unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi keeps everyone connected as you share stories from your Arctic adventures.

Sleeping up to 2 people, these cosy cabins feature a toilet but no shower. As part of your stay, one night in the cabin is included while you keep your original room.
For parties of 3 or 4 guests, two cabins will be allocated.

– Up to balance due date (This is normally 16 weeks prior to departure however some holidays differ. If this applies to your holiday you will be advised at the time of booking) – Loss of deposit (including the full cost of the flights or other services where paid at the time of booking)
– between the balance due date and 98 days before departure – 60%
– 97 to 64 days before departure – 80%
– 63 days or less before departure – 100%
For all other travel dates, the following cancellation terms apply:
