You’ll meet with your local guide who will show you how to use your pair of snowshoes to walk easily across the snowy trails. Moving silently into the forest, you’ll reach a campfire where you’ll enjoy warm drinks and look to the skies for signs of the Aurora. You will be out for approximately 3 hours.

This must-do winter experience will take you over frozen lakes and through forests with snow-capped trees with just the sound of paws running on the ground. You’ll meet your excitable team of dogs and learn how to handle your sled before you head out on the adventure. The dogs will soon quieten down when you take to the trail, leaving you to enjoy the serene nature. All safaris run so that one person is standing and steering the sleigh and the other is sitting in the sleigh, with the option to change halfway.

Your local guide will give you instructions on how to drive your snowmobile before you set off for the snowy tracks and into the beautiful surrounding nature. You’ll be out for approximately 4 hours and will stop for lunch by the open fire. Please note, you must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license to drive a snowmobile.

As the Sámi capital of Finland, your time in Inari wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Sámi Museum and Nature Centre to learn more about the culture and northern nature.

Starting from the hotel, you’ll walk 1km by the side of the beautiful river Juutua to the museum. You will get familiar with the rich and varied history of the Sámi people and their role in modern-day Lapland. You’ll also gain an understanding of all 8 seasons of Lapland and see the wonders of Arctic Nature. Finish your visit with a stop in the gift shop selling handmade products to take back home as souvenirs or presents.

Keep your eyes looking at the dark night skies as you make your way to the camp where a campfire awaits. Here, you’ll enjoy a hot drink while your guide tells you stories about the Aurora. If the conditions are right, you’ll be in one of the top places in the world to see the Northern Lights.

You can hire a set of skis and test yourself on the cross-country skiing trails around Inari or go trekking through the snow on snowshoes. Price based on per person, per day

Enjoy a snowmobile safari in the surrounding wilderness.

Your guide will familiarise you with the snowmobile and its controls (there really aren’t many), providing a full safety briefing with instructions. It will then be time to set off, two people per snowmobile, on a guided excursion, typically following trails across Lake Inari.

The distance you cover will depend on the group, but the activity will last for around two hours in total and you will have the opportunity to swap drivers halfway.
