A warm welcome awaits you in enchanting Lapland. Máttaráhká Northern Lights Lodge is perfectly situated 5km outside Kiruna; Sweden’s northernmost city. Lying well within the Arctic Circle, Kiruna and the surrounding area is often bathed in glow of the Northern Lights and offers an extensive list of all the Nordic activities you would expect from a winter wonderland.
The holy trinity of a Lapland bucket-list; huskies, snowmobiles and of course, the phenomenal Aurora Borealis. This trip ticks all the boxes and maximises your chances of witnessing the beauty of the Northern Lights.
Máttaráhká Northern Lights Lodge is a small-scale family run business with 15 years of experience. The team pride themselves on offering their guests a home-from-home. In Sámi mythology, Máttaráhkká was the mother goddess, who together with her three daughters, oversaw the tribe and the home domain, and lived together with the humans in the kåta (the Sámi hut.) Máttaráhká is a fitting name for the family-run lodge depicting their inclusive, warm invitation and hospitality.
The lodge itself has been carefully designed to provide guests with a cosy and comfortable stay after embarking on exciting adventures in the Arctic wilderness. The bedrooms centre around a stylish communal lounge area where you can relax in front of the fire with a drink and keep a look out for the Northern Lights. The intimacy of Máttaráhká Northern Lights Lodge and the thoughtful selection of activities included makes this escape an excellent choice for couples or friends travelling together.
