Sam Barron

Born in Darlington in northeast England, Sam spent years travelling across the US and Europe by bicycle before joining the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineer. During this time, he was lucky enough to sail around the world, visiting countries such as South Africa, Brazil, South Georgia, and even the most remote island in the world, Tristan da Cunha. He saw countless whales, kayaked through the Norwegian fjords, and witnessed the northern lights at sea near Iceland.

Having met his now wife on the ship, the two left together and travelled the world for two years, backpacking through India, Japan, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the USA. Along the way, Sam dived with whale sharks in Borneo, paraglided off Nepalese mountains, travelled the length of India by train, watched sunrise on Mt Fuji, and even hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon for a swim (among many other adventures!).

Sam now lives down south, enjoying life as a “fake Cornishman” and spending plenty of time eating pasties.
