Itinerary
Experience a warm Finnish welcome upon your arrival. Your driver will meet you and transport you to Hotel Inari, a scenic 40-minute drive from the airport. After checking in, settle into your Superior Room before heading to Restaurant Aurora for a delicious evening meal.
Tonight, you will head out with your guide on snowshoes – the perfect footwear for hiking through the wintry wilderness. Snowshoes increase your surface area, distributing your body weight evenly and preventing you from sinking into deep snow. Your guide will lead you into the silent and magical forest. With a bit of luck, you will catch a glimpse of the enchanting Aurora Borealis on your first night. Fingers crossed!

Breakfast will be served in Hotel Inari’s restaurant each morning and the team here encourage you to pre-book a table to ensure the best possible experience. We would recommend requesting a table by the window too as breathtaking views across Lake Inari are on offer – what a lovely way to start the day.
Following breakfast, you will meet at the activity pick up point before transferring to a husky farm. The energetic pack will be excited to meet you and take you on a ride into the wilderness. Your guide will deliver a safety talk and instructions of how to navigate the dog sled then it’s off onto the trail for a thrilling journey through snow-capped trees and over glistening fells. After the safari, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the huskies and warm up with a hot drink in a wooden hut by the open fire. We are delighted to share that this husky farm was one of the first to be granted a Green Key certification, recognising its excellent standards of environmental responsibility and sustainable operations.
Lunch will be served back at the hotel and then the afternoon is yours to spend as you wish. You may prefer to unwind with a good book or relax in your private sauna. Head back to Restaurant Aurora for your evening meal and savour the taste of Lappish cuisine before another night of searching for the Northern Lights. Your guide will meet you at the pickup point and accompany you on this exclusive excursion in search of an Aurora display. They will take you to a camp located away from any light pollution to maximise your chances. As you wait, listen to captivating tales and learn more about this wonderous part of the world around an open fire. In a traditional kota hut, your guide will prepare grilled sausages and tasty pancakes to keep you warm. Be sure to have your camera ready and ask your guide to help select the optimal setting to capture the colours and patterns dancing across the night sky.

There’s nothing more thrilling than weaving through snowcapped trees and across the glistening landscape on a snowmobile. This exhilarating activity is a must-do experience for all visitors to Lapland. If the weather conditions allow, after a safety briefing and introductory lesson, you will follow your guide on a trail through the forest or onto the frozen lake Inari. You will ride two people per snowmobile and have the opportunity to swap drivers midway through the journey. Please note that all drivers must be 18 years or over and hold a valid driving license.
This rest of today’s agenda is free for you to design. Perhaps you fancy a go at snowshoeing or winter fishing – there’s lots of choice to suit all interests. All meals will be served in Restaurant Aurora.
