After landing in Tromsø, you will be transferred from the airport to Clarion Hotel the Edge for check in. Situated in the centre of ‘the Paris of the North’ with breathtaking views of the Arctic Cathedral, it offers a modern and comfortable stay in a city bursting with places to explore such as the Polaria Aquarium and the Tromsø Cathedral, enjoy a delicious evening meal in one of the cities many respected restaurants. After exploring quench your thirst in the hotel’s rooftop bar overlooking the cities night life as you settle in for the evening.

The dream activity for dog lovers commences this morning, where the transfer becomes the activity! In the morning arrive outside the Radisson Blu Hotel and head with guides to the centre where you will meet your canine companions. Be prepared for some exercise as you are guided by a pack of friendly and very athletic huskies into the Arctic wilderness. Fear not, you will be allocated 1 husky for every 3 adults, so if the eager husky becomes too tiresome, hand over to your walking buddy to take the leash!

After the hike you and your new companions can settle down for lunch around an open fire in a Gamme Hut* Enjoy a traditional and delicious Norwegian lunch of bacalao, a salted cod dish, afterwards you will then be shown to your cabin where you will be greeted by a very friendly husky. Each cabin has a doghouse that allows you to play with the dogs when outside and lets you watch them rest after a day’s hiking through a glass window whilst inside.

Now you have become an expert in the local terrain and have bonded with your husky, you will have the opportunity to borrow dog walking equipment and head out into the wilderness once more and in fact keep the dogs overnight as a guest in your cabin! A warming dinner will then be served later in the evening, a delicious and well-earned indulgence after a day husky hiking.

Taste traditional cuisine once more at dinner with the chance to try Bidos, a traditional Sami reindeer dish. Afterwards relax in your cosy cabin and enjoy a deep sleep in your ‘samina’ equipped bed, known as the world’s best sleeping system due to its pure sheep wool filling.

*A Gamme hut is a traditional Sámi dwelling, typically shaped like a tepee or cone, or sometimes made of logs. Used by the indigenous Sámi people of northern Scandinavia as a temporary shelter during reindeer herding or hunting expeditions (or husky hiking!)

After quite possibly your best sleep, enjoy breakfast back in the Gamme hut and then say bye to your husky friends before heading back into Tromsø.

It’s time for the dreamiest of activities as you head out sailing under the Midnight sun. Time truly becomes meaningless as you glide across calm waters under amber skies, seeing nature at its very best. Create special memories out on the water, and even enjoy a snack/ warm fish soup onboard using the days fresh catch. This sailing excursion truly is the best way to see the midnight sun, and soul lifting skies of Northern Norway.

After making friends with local huskies, enjoying delicious, traditional cuisine in Sami cultural environments, and even cruising along Nordic Fjords under the fiery, yet tranquil Nordic skies, it’s time for your holiday to come to an end. Hop on an airport shuttle bus, leaving from the city centre every thirty minutes, and head safely back home taking lifelong memories with you.
